Cleaning Service Overview

• Does not restore PU layers
• Does not repair tears, broken poles or damaged components
• Does not restore faded colours or sun‑bleached fabric
• Does not make the tent “as new”

What’s Included in the Cleaning Service

• Pre‑work inspection
• Customer report following the inspection
• Full clean of inner and flysheet
• Clean of tent bag, pole bag, peg bag, poles and pegs
• Reproofing of the tent and tent bag.
• Controlled drying in our dedicated drying room

Pre‑Work Inspection:

When your tent arrives, we carry out a basic pre‑work inspection. This inspection is referenced in your Terms & Conditions and includes:

• Confirming tent size for accurate pricing
• Checking for damage, missing components or wear
• Identifying mould, staining, odours or fabric issues
• Assessing whether repairs or additional treatments may be required
• Creating a video for the customer report

Cleaning Price

We price this service based on the approximate amount of material (square foot). This ensures fair, consistent pricing across all tent models and reflects the time, chemicals and energy required to clean, dry and reproof each tent properly. The price shown on the site shows the current price per square foot of material.
As a reference, here are example costs:
2 person = Endurance Refuge 200 – £55 / Vango Scafell 200 – £44
3 person = Endurance Refuge 300 – £69 / Vango Scafell 300 – £53
4 person = Endurance Refuge 400 – £94 / Vango Tay 400 £70

Reproofing

After cleaning and drying, your tent is fully reproofed using a specialist outdoor‑grade treatment designed for modern synthetic camping fabrics. This helps restore the tent’s durable water repellency (DWR), improving how the fabric behaves in wet conditions.

• Restores surface water repellency so rain beads and runs off the fabric
• Helps reduce water absorption into the flysheet and groundsheet
• Improves drying time after wet weather
• Enhances comfort by reducing “wetting out”
• Provides a fresh protective coating suitable for regular camping use
• Fully cured in our drying room over a 48‑hour cycle
• It does not restore or increase the tent’s hydrostatic head (HH) rating
• It does not repair fabric that has degraded due to UV damage or hydrolysis
• It does not fix seam tape failure or worn coatings
• It does not make an old tent waterproof if the PU layer has started to break down
• It does not replace the need for proper tent care, drying and storage

Mould Treatment

Mould treatment is an additional service, not included in the base tent cleaning service. If you suspect or know of mould in your tent at the time of enquiry, please let us know so that we can include this in the quote, otherwise we will let you know if we find any, including the cost to treat it in our pre-work inspection report.
We use a specialist mould‑removal formula, designed specifically for camping equipment. It kills 99.99% of mould, reduces mould staining, and continues working for up to 3 months after application.

• Kill active mould growth
• Reduce visible mould staining
• Remove odour caused by mould
• Clean and reproof affected areas

We cannot guarantee any worksmanship against permanent staining of nylon and polyester fibres or the weaking of fabrics or PU layers as a result of mould, even after treatment, staining and discolouration may remain, severe mould can also weaken fabric, coatings and stitches.

The cost of mould treatment depends on severity. The exact price will be determined during the pre work inspection and, if required, will range between £25 – £70 per tent

Delivery & Packaging

We use Parcel Force for smaller loads or Same Day Couriers for large bulk loads. If equipment is to be shipped to/from us via Parcel Force, we ask that the customer pack their items in boxes based on the following criteria:

• Maximum length: 130cm (1.3m)
• Maximum width: 70cm (0.7m)
• Maximum height: 70cm (0.7m)
• Maximum weight: 30 kg

If your boxes exceeds these limits, additional fee’s maybe required.

When sending items to us please ensure that all items are packed safely and reasonably so that they are protected from being damaged during transit.

Repairs, Maintenance and Any Other Additional Work

If we find any issues during the pre‑work inspection—broken poles, damaged eyelets, worn zips, missing pegs—we’ll let you know and provide a no‑obligation quote for repairs.

How Often Should You Clean Your Tent?

To keep your tent performing at its best, we recommend cleaning and reproofing every 4–6 uses, or Once a year for regular users.
